A Weekend of Firsts

Katie had her first birthday on Saturday.  She celebrated with a party with her sister, parents, and grandparents.Birthday Party

To celebrate, Katie smeared her ice cream cake all over her face.

Also, Elizabeth went for her first sailboat ride on Sunday.

Finally, Pete turned Katie’s car seat around, so she is now front-facing.

Not much new here…

I’ve noticed I haven’t posted anything new lately, but it seems like there isn’t much new to report.  Elizabeth is still enjoying her music class and she is over the moon about swimming class (which unfortunately ends this week).  Katie is 6-months now, she rolls over when highly-motivated, but most of the time she is still where I left her (thankfully) and she has one tooth on the bottom peeking through.  Mostly we’re all anxious to have spring arrive so we get outside more.

Life for me(Kimberly) has been very busy as I’ve been working on a new website proposal which I’ll tell you more about if/when it is official, but its looking good and I’m real excited about it!  Oh, and Pete and I are really excited about our new small group.  Hope(With a little help from above) did a fantastic job grouping us with 3 other couples.  I’m really looking forward to getting to know all of them and I suspect we’re just at the beginning of friendships that will be dear, and life-long.

Drop us a note if you’re here visiting us, we’d love to hear what you’re up to.

Learn-a-palooza

In the last week Elizabeth has experienced her first swimming lesson and her first Kindermusik class.  Both were a huge hit!

Lesson 2 : Invisible Fence

So we finally did it, we installed an invisible fence around our front and back yards last week for the dogs.  Yup, our little houdini we like to call Emma is still regularly jumping the fence so we’re going to try out a new form of containment.

Anyway, they came last week to lay the wire (on top of the snow/ground until spring) and did a training session with both dogs inside the house.  In a couple hours they are coming back to do the first round of outside training (of course, Tuesday it was quite balmy out, and today its something like 3° below!  Please pray for us!  I’m not sure what else we can do if this doesn’t work!

UPDATE: The fence is in and working pretty well!  It will be interesting to see if they want out of the yard more in the spring when all the critters start running around outside the fence line.
